Volunteers Needed – Help Compost the Salem Food Truck & Craft Beer Festival on Saturday, September 28.

Salem’s popular Food Truck Festival returns to the Common on September 28-29, and SalemRecycles, Salem Food for All and SAFE – Salem Alliance for the Environment would like to compost the abundance of food waste instead of trashing it. With the assistance of Black Earth Compost, this waste will become black gold for our farms and gardens.

Volunteers are needed for 2 hour shifts (on 9/28 only) between 11 am and 6 pm, to assure correct disposal in the various bins. Training and equipment will be provided. To volunteer or to ask questions, please contact Carol Hautau at carol.hautau@gmail.com
