Delivery and distribution of meals to seniors in Salem Housing Authority

Deliveries take place each Tuesday/Thursday, January through May. Pickup will be at Root with delivery to one or two senior housing locations in Salem. A few of the routes also include distribution (hanging meal bags on doors.)

Deliveries take place between 11:15 and 12:45 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. A small hatchback or suv (or larger) is suggested for the two larger routes. CORIs are required for volunteers doing distribution inside the complexes. Empty coolers, carts, and keys (where applicable) need to be returned to Root after delivery.

ROUTE DETAILS:

Route 1 – Delivery only (Jan), distribution and delivery needed after 2/1/2021
Pickup @ Root at 11:45 AM, drop off at 12:00 PM
Dalton Place/Morency Manor, 205 Bridge Street
25-30 meals for Dalton, Morency Manor, and Barton Square

Route 2 – Delivery and distribution:
Pickup @ Root at 11:00 AM, drop off at 11:15 AM
Leefort Terrace, Off Memorial Drive
40-50 meals for Leefort, Bertram, Phillips and Pioneer Terrace

Route 3 – Delivery and Distribution:
Pickup @ Root at 11:45 AM, deliver between 12-12:30 PM
Bates Terrace, corner of Dunlap and School
Norton Terrace, off Tremont Street
Rainbow Terrace (off Loring Ave.)
5 -10 meals – need to be delivered to individual doors
Keys required for the building, information for key access to follow.

Route 4 – Delivery and Distribution:
27 Charter Street (off Hawthorne Blvd)
Pickup @ Root at 11:45 AM, deliver between 12-12:30 PM
5-10 meals – need to be delivered to individual doors (accessed via elevator)
