The City of Salem Council on Aging is dedicated to providing activities and supporting quality of life for residents aged 60 and older. In addition to maintaining the Senior Center, which is open during the weekdays, the Council on Aging sponsors events for seniors which include social outings, recreational activities, and exercise opportunities. Transportation and wellness clinic services are also offered. Meals are served at the center for those with reservations. A home meal service is also available. Volunteers and social services are integral to the maintenance of the center. (From Salem Patch.)
