Salem Community Life Center food program

The Salem Community Life Center is working with the United States Department of Agriculture and the Greater Boston Food Bank to to offer a Commodity Supplemental Food Program for income eligible seniors age 60 and over who are in need of supplementing their diets.

Some seniors will need someone to pick up their groceries from the distribution site and deliver them. Volunteers will pick up packages between 12 and 1 pm at the Danvers Council on Aging at 25 Stone Street in Danvers and it will take approximately one hour to deliver to Salem seniors. (With more participants, a distribution site will be set up in Salem.) 2018 distribution dates are Monday, October 1, Monday, November 5, and Monday, December 3.

Volunteers must have their own car, be able to lift 10lbs, and pass a CORI check.
