Family Promise volunteer training
June 5, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Family Promise North Shore Boston aims to return newly homeless families to economic self-sufficiency, while serving each family that experiences homelessness in a manner that embraces the dignity and strength of the family. Family Promise is committed to keeping families together during their time of homelessness and to helping them through the process of finding support and housing.
Family Promise is hosting a training for new volunteers on Wednesday, June 5 at 6:30pm at First Church at 316 Essex Street in Salem. Street parking is available. Enter to the right of the building at the business entrance. Training will be about an hour and a half, and we ask that you bring a driver’s license to complete a CORI background check.
You do not have to be affiliated with a faith-based community or have any faith background to volunteer. If you are interested in bringing the meal, setting up and enjoying dinner with the guests, or taking the overnight shift, we will find a conveniently located host site/congregation for you! We have host sites/churches in Salem, Beverly, and Danvers, all in need of volunteers.
