SUMMARY:Ice Scream Bowl
DESCRIPTION:The 2019 Ice Scream Bowl will take place Wednesday\, August 7 from 6 to 7:30pm. \nProceeds will go towards Salem Main Streets\, a non-profit organization with the goal of revitalizing downtown Salem as a vibrant year-round retail\, dining\, and cultural destination. The Ice Scream Bowl is coordinated in partnership with the City of Salem as part of Salem Heritage Days\, a ten day event to celebrate the people of Salem. \nVolunteers are needed! We are only looking for ONE HOUR of your time (although more would be awesome!). Help is needed scooping ice cream samples\, passing out spoons\, and checking tickets at each ice cream vendor station. SUMMARY:Salem Summer Meals blitz
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, June 27 from 4 to 6:30pm\, the City of Salem will host its fourth annual Salem Summer Meals Blitz at the Salem Common playground. This event organizes volunteers and partners to raise awareness of the Salem Summer Meals program. Groups of volunteers will work in teams to canvas the community with outreach materials about the free summer meals available to all children ages 0-18. The goal is to get the word out to all families by distributing information all over Salem and explaining Salem Summer Meals to those you meet along the way. \nSalem Summer Meals is part of the Summer Food Service Program\, a federally-funded nutrition program that provides free meals to children ages 18 and under when school is not in session. DESCRIPTION:SalemRecycles will be holding its annual spring Swap’N’Drop on Salem Common on May 4 from 10am to 1pm.
