DESCRIPTION:Are you interesting in working with refugee and immigrant youth? The New American Center in Lynn is currently recruiting volunteer tutors for our after school program! Tutors will work one-on-one or with small groups of students to complete daily homework assignments\, practice literacy skills\, and study for upcoming tests. There might also be time to play games and run science and art activities. \nProgram runs from 3:00-5:00\, Monday-Thursday. We ask that volunteers be able to commit to at least one afternoon a week for a semester. The NSMM delivers groceries monthly to nearly 200 households in local communities. The NSMM is also the only mobile market that includes pet food with regular delivery. \nWe all need to be fed. Here’s how you can feed and be fed! \nVolunteers are needed to help deliver groceries on Wednesday mornings from approximately 9am until noon. DESCRIPTION:SalemRecycles and The Bridge at 211 team up for our sixth Repair Café! This is a free event\, run completely by volunteers\, to help Salem residents repair and restore their broken items\, keeping them out of the waste stream. \nThe event will run from 9am until noon\, with the last appointment at 11:30. \nRepairs include: Sewing by hand or machine (mend\, patch\, hem\, buttons)\, sharpening scissors and knives\, tinkering with or rewiring electronics and lamps (no TVs)\, ceramics gluing\, and basic jewelry repair. \nVolunteers are needed! DESCRIPTION:Are you interesting in working with refugee and immigrant youth? The New American Center in Lynn is currently recruiting volunteer tutors for our after school program! Tutors will work one-on-one or with small groups of students to complete daily homework assignments\, practice literacy skills\, and study for upcoming tests. There might also be time to play games and run science and art activities. \nProgram runs from 3:00-5:00\, Monday-Thursday. We ask that volunteers be able to commit to at least one afternoon a week for a semester.
