DESCRIPTION:The 14th annual Swim & Fin Race for Salem Sound\, open water races celebrating the clean water in Salem Sound and benefiting Salem Sound Coastwatch\, will take place Sunday\, August 11th at Forest River Park in Salem. \nIt takes a lot of people to make the Swim & Fin run smoothly. If you can volunteer some time\, we can use you! \nOn Sunday\, we need volunteers for set up\, registration\, helping with parking\, food\, raffles\, and awards\, assisting the timers and swim officials\, and anything else that pops up! We are in particular need of safety paddles out on the course. \nWe also need safety kayakers and paddlers on the course. DESCRIPTION:The Salem Farmers’ Market runs every Thursday from June 13 through October 17. Volunteers are needed to help: once a week\, once a month\, or once in a while. \nVolunteer needs are: \nSetup (1:30 to 3pm): This is part of the market where we could really use volunteers. If you are able to make this shift it would be absolutely fabulous! SUMMARY:Ice Scream Bowl
DESCRIPTION:The 2019 Ice Scream Bowl will take place Wednesday\, August 7 from 6 to 7:30pm. \nProceeds will go towards Salem Main Streets\, a non-profit organization with the goal of revitalizing downtown Salem as a vibrant year-round retail\, dining\, and cultural destination. The Ice Scream Bowl is coordinated in partnership with the City of Salem as part of Salem Heritage Days\, a ten day event to celebrate the people of Salem. \nVolunteers are needed! We are only looking for ONE HOUR of your time (although more would be awesome!). Help is needed scooping ice cream samples\, passing out spoons\, and checking tickets at each ice cream vendor station.
